Forward deployed software/ Customer engineer: custom onboarding integrations

As a customer engineer (forward deployed engineer), I was the onboarding lead for a large European client

• I anonymised 25 million image assets with a pipeline I implemented as the groundwork for our computer vision model ingestion pipeline. Our design estimated a timeline of approximately one week to complete but the final implementation was complete within 1.5 days, a 22% performance improvement (and cost saving for the customer). The anonymisation models were loaded into an AWS Lambdas, with our custom code deployed onto the customer's AWS ('on-prem'). I implemented the infrastructure as code, which was audited by external security experts and included private VPCs, KMS secured asset transfer. The core logic handled JPEG and PNG image ingestion, PII detection (panel, text, faces) via PyTorch models with custom segmentation, and blurring validated ROIs using irreversible kernels.
• Built secure AWS-native deployments using IaC (VPC isolation, KMS, Terraform/CDK) audited by external security consultants.
• Built backend proxy and enrichment layers for event routing, fraud-detection workflows and secure callback processing using API Gateway and Lambda.
• Implemented stateless architectures and secure secrets handling using SSM and parameterised infrastructure.
• Deployed observability & reliability patterns including Grafana dashboards, incident response and reprocessing flows.

Conditional forms

A B2B2C and B2C form generator with conditional logic, spanning CMS creation and form implementation.

• Lead the design and implementation of the online sales pipeline, integrating with legacy systems and reducing dependency overhead for development teams.
• Extended the offering of an open source payload CMS to provide indication of conditional content
• Introduced GitHub actions and CICD pipelines to the business with testing thresholds
• Mentored junior developers and promoted best practices to the team
• Led engineering ceremonies (Agile SCRUM)

NHS OAuth integration

Architected and implemented multi-provider authentication system using OAuth2/OIDC in .NET Core, enabling patients to authenticate via custom credentials or federated NHS Login. Built claims transformation pipeline to integrate NHS organisation identifiers (ODS codes) and patient metadata into application authorization model. Delivered secure token-based authentication for React frontend with session handling and refresh token management.

Docman integration

Implemented integration with an electronic document transfer system that captures documents and distributes them electronically to any GP practice or organisation connected to it, reducing emails and admin efforts of clinicians in conjunction with the results of our clinical algorithmic outcomes

Algorithmic platform and product suite

Assisted in the frontend offering of our clinical diagnostic tooling

• Diagnosed and fixed a longstanding bug in the undo/redo functionality where the command pattern implementation incorrectly used reference equality for state comparison. Due to JavaScript's object comparison semantics (comparing memory references rather than structural equality), each state snapshot was treated as distinct even when semantically identical, causing the command stack to accumulate redundant entries and trigger unintended state mutations during undo/redo operations. The implemented solution had a few options but for performance, structural hashing was introduced

GP covid alerting system

Produced a covid-19 alerting system to warn GP practices of patients with flu-like symptoms in the early stages of the pandemic.

• Independently introduced the alerting feature based on clinical pathway conclusions
• Assisted the implementation of a video consultation element to reduce GP practice visits

Patient-facing clinical app development

Core contributor to a micro-frontend solution in React using redux, sagas, styled components and SSR

• Integrated a clinical diagnostic pathway algorithm with our microfrontend
